Player license – mandatory from 13 years of age
Everyone who participates in league play must have a license from the day they turn 13. The license must be paid for before the first match is played.
The license goes to the Norwegian Basketball Association (NBBF) and is used for, among other things:
Player development and national team
Club development and coach development
National tournaments
Daily operations and development of Norwegian basketball
The license also includes insurance that covers injuries that occur in matches or organized training through a club, region or federation during the season.
More information from NBBF: License info
Who must resolve the license?
License is issued according to the player's age.
U19 players or younger who play at senior level obtain a U19 license.
Players under the age of 13 who participate in league games for U13 and above do not need a license.
EasyBasket players under the age of 13 are covered by NIF's children's sports insurance and do not need a license.

Practical information
The license is valid for the season and is valid until September 30. A new license must be paid for before this date to be eligible to play and insured.
The player does not need to pay a new license when changing clubs during the season.
Club responsibilities and access
It is the club's responsibility to keep player lists up to date and ensure that all players obtain a license via the license manager in Min Idrett.
All basketball clubs have received information on how to use Min Idrett. If you do not have access, contact NIF Digital Support.
All players can redeem their licenses via My Sports. The club can also check that the information (address, license type, active status, etc.) is correct.
